Cellution Terms of Service
Beta version — this text may be updated before launch
1. Who we are and what Cellution is
Cellution is a hero-collecting game based on microorganisms and cells, with automatic team battles. It is published by Diego Henderson (an individual, Argentina) ("we"), based in Córdoba (postal code 5000), Argentina, with contact details at the end of this document.
Cellution is played on mobile with an internet connection. Some parts work offline (for example, the campaign, under the rules in section 5). Others require a connection (purchases, summons, rewarded ads, Arena, guilds and account synchronization).
At launch the game is distributed through Google Play (Android). An iPhone version (App Store) will be evaluated later; these terms would also apply to it, together with the additional conditions of the relevant store.
2. Requirements to play: age
You must be 18 or older to use Cellution. When you start, the game asks you to confirm that you are 18 or older. If you do not confirm, you cannot play.
- That confirmation is your own statement. For now we do not verify your age with documents or other means.
- If we find that an account belongs to a person under 18, we may close it and delete its data as described in the Privacy Policy.
- If you are a parent or guardian and believe a minor is using the game, write to us at idovoco@gmail.com.
3. Your account
3.1 Guest access. When you start, the game creates a guest account linked to an identifier that the app itself generates on your device. You do not need an email or password to play.
- If you uninstall the game or change device without linking a Google account, you may lose access to your progress. We recommend linking your account.
3.2 Linking a Google account (optional). You can link your Google account to recover your progress on another device. We use Google only to verify your identity. We do not store your Google password.
- If the Google account you choose already belongs to another Cellution account, we will show you both and you choose which one to keep. The two accounts are not merged. The account you do not choose stays as it is, until you decide otherwise.
3.3 Your responsibility. You are responsible for what happens on your account. You may not sell, transfer or share your account, or let another person use it on your behalf.
3.4 Support ID. Your account has a support identifier shown in Settings → Account. Include it when you write to us so that we can find your account without asking for more data.
4. Display name and content you write
4.1 Display name. You choose your display name when you start. It is not assigned automatically. It must be 3 to 16 characters long (letters, numbers, space, period, hyphen and underscore). The server and the game apply the same rules (accents are allowed) and an offensive-word filter.
- Do not use your real name, phone, email, address or other people's data in your display name. Other players will see it.
- Do not use names that insult, threaten, discriminate, impersonate another person or a brand, or break the law.
- We may ask you to change a name that breaks these rules, or change it ourselves temporarily, with notice.
4.2 Guild names and announcements. Guild names and announcements are free text written by whoever creates or manages the guild. They are filtered with a list of disallowed words. The filter is not perfect: if a name or announcement breaks these rules, we may remove it.
4.3 Guild messages. At launch, guild chat only allows predefined messages chosen by the game. There is no free chat. If we add free chat in the future, we will announce it beforehand and it will have moderation and reporting.
4.4 Licence over the content you write. By writing a name or a guild announcement you give us a limited, non-exclusive, free licence to display it inside the game for as long as it exists. You can withdraw your content at any time by deleting or changing the name or announcement, and we will remove it from the game.
5. Online play and offline play
5.1 The server decides. Prizes, rewards, the economy, Arena rankings and the results of online battles are calculated and confirmed on our server. Your device shows the result but does not decide the prize.
5.2 Offline campaign. You can play the campaign offline. In that mode:
- Some rewards are applied on the device immediately (completing a stage, stars, account and hero XP). They are limited by a budget that our server sets when you connect.
- Other rewards (Crystals, equipment pieces, hero fragments and rare materials) are queued until the server validates them on synchronization.
- If a queued result does not fit in the energy budget the server issued, the server rejects it.
- Offline mode gives no Arena, guild or purchase rewards.
5.3 Technical errors. If there is a technical error on your account (for example, a duplicated prize or a synchronization failure), we may correct your balance or progress. We will do so leaving a record of the change. We do not correct a balance to take away something you legitimately obtained without notifying you first.
5.4 Interruptions. There may be service outages for maintenance or for reasons beyond our control. We will notify you in advance where possible.
6. In-game currencies (virtual)
Cellution has in-game currencies and resources, such as Crystals, Credits, Materials, Data, Energy (ATP), Cell Serum, hero fragments, raid tokens and arena points.
- No in-game currency or resource has monetary value. They cannot be exchanged for money, for accounts in other games or for goods outside Cellution, nor transferred between accounts.
- Crystals. They are the game's payment currency. Crystals you buy and Crystals you earn buy the same catalogue. We record where each balance comes from so that we can handle refunds and support enquiries. Crystals do not expire when a season ends.
- Credits, Materials, Data, Energy and other resources are obtained by playing, through events, missions or in-game gifts. They are not sold for real money. Energy can also be recovered with a rewarded ad (section 11).
- We may change the rate at which resources are obtained, in-game prices and content, to balance the game. If a change significantly reduces what you already have, we will announce it in advance.
7. Purchases with real money
7.1 Where to buy. Real-money purchases are made only through Google Play (Android). The amount, currency, taxes and payment method are handled by Google Play. We do not receive or store your card or payment method details.
7.2 What you can buy. Depending on the current version of the game, you can buy:
- Crystal packs. Quantities and prices appear in the in-game store and on Google Play. The first purchase of each pack gives an extra amount once per account. Later purchases give the base amount plus the pack's bonus.
- Equipment pieces. Some equipment pieces are sold for Crystals in the common store. A purple piece costs 100 Crystals and can be bought once per account per week. Equipment pieces have stats (health, attack, defence, etc.) that affect battles. Red pieces are not sold: they are only obtained by fusing two purple pieces of the same type.
- 28-day season pass. It has a free track and a premium track. The premium track's price appears in the store. See section 9.
- x4 replay unlock. A one-time purchase that enables x4-speed replay in the campaign.
- Cosmetics. Skins, frames, badges and effects. They are bought directly in the store, at a fixed price. Cosmetics are purely aesthetic: they give no advantage in combat or in the economy.
7.3 What we do not sell. We do not sell Credits, Materials, Data, Energy, Serum or hero fragments for real money, and we do not sell campaign progress. Equipment pieces, Crystals, the pass, the x4 replay and cosmetics are the only paid products planned.
7.4 First purchase. The first-purchase extra amount of a pack is given once per account and per pack. A refund does not erase the first-purchase mark.
7.5 Restoring purchases. If a purchase does not appear on your account, use the game's "retry" function. The server checks the purchase with Google Play and credits it only once.
8. Cell Summon (Crystal draw)
The Cell Summon is a draw: you pay with Crystals and receive a random result. It is a game of chance. Before summoning, the game shows you the probabilities.
8.1 Cost. One summon costs 100 Crystals. Ten summons cost 900 Crystals.
8.2 Probabilities by rarity. These are the probabilities of the current version; the game always shows the current figures:
| Rarity | Probability per summon |
|---|---|
| Legendary | 2.0% |
| Epic | 11.0% |
| Rare | 30.0% |
| Common | 57.0% |
Within each rarity, some characters have more weight than others. The game shows each character's individual probability before you summon.
8.3 Guarantee. If 90 summons pass without a Legendary, summon number 90 is a Legendary. The counter is per draw and resets when you obtain a Legendary.
8.4 Duplicate characters. If you get a character you already own, it turns into 30 fragments of that same character, whatever its rarity. With fragments you can recruit or upgrade the character.
8.5 History. The game keeps your last 200 confirmed summons with their result, so you can review them.
8.6 What you get. Characters that appear in the Summon can also be obtained through the campaign, events and collection stores, according to the current design. No character is exclusive to the Summon.
8.7 No monetary value. Summon results are virtual items with no monetary value. They are not exchanged for money or other goods.
8.8 Retries. If a summon fails because of the connection, it is not charged and the result is not repeated. If you retry the same summon, the server does not charge it twice.
9. Season pass
- Duration: 28 days. When it ends, the season closes. The pass is a single-use product, with no automatic renewal.
- Progress: you gain one level for each day of the season on which you play (a daily mission or logging in).
- Tracks: the free track includes fragments of a hero of the month, Crystals, Credits and economy resources within a published budget. The premium track adds more fragments, Credits, Crystals and equipment items than the free track.
- Prizes: prizes you have already earned can be claimed when the season ends.
- Purchase: the premium track can be bought up to day 21 of the season. After that only the visual pack is offered, at the same price, without requiring progress.
- Season look: season cosmetics go into the cosmetics archive after 90 days. We state this from the start.
10. Refunds and withdrawal
10.1 Refunds according to the store. Refunds of Google Play purchases are handled by Google under its policy. Within the first 48 hours, Google may accept a refund depending on the purchase details. After that, the request is directed to us, and we resolve it under our policy and the applicable law.
10.2 Rights that cannot be waived. These terms do not remove the rights that the law of your country gives you, including rights of withdrawal or return for digital content. Where the law allows, we will respect them.
10.3 What happens to Crystals if there is a refund. If Google or we refund a purchase:
- Purchased Crystals that you have not spent are removed from your balance.
- If you have already spent them (for example, on summons), we apply a uniform revocation rule, the same for all players, and we will notify you of the measure.
- We do not automatically remove your free progress because of a refund. Any review is done case by case, with notice.
10.4 What we do not offer. We do not say that Crystals or summons are "never refundable". Any rejection of a refund request will be explained in writing.
11. Rewarded ads
- You can watch a rewarded ad to recover 40 Energy, instead of waiting. It is optional. There are no other ad formats.
- The ad is shown by Google AdMob, which may process data from your device under its own policy. Where the law requires it, we ask for your consent through Google UMP. We explain this in the Privacy Policy.
- You need a connection to watch a rewarded ad.
- The reward is given only once per ad.
12. Guilds, Arena and raid
- Guilds. You can create a guild (with in-game Credits) or join one. A guild has a leader, officers and members. Each role has permissions. There is a 24-hour waiting period to join another guild after leaving.
- Arena. You face your saved formation against other players' formations. The result is calculated on the server, and battles may be stored as replays for 7 days. Other players can see your defensive formation and your display name.
- Guild raid. Members attack a common boss with a shared health bar. Contributions are recorded per player and may be visible to guild members.
- Hero lending. You can lend a hero to an ally in your guild. You do not pay for lending.
- No real money in guilds. Guild currencies cannot be bought with real money.
13. Permitted conduct
The following, among other things, is prohibited:
- Using cheats, bots, scripts, automation or third-party tools to play or to gain advantages.
- Tampering with the client, sending fake requests to the server, or exploiting game bugs. If you find a bug, tell us.
- Creating multiple accounts to gain advantages.
- Sharing, selling, buying or trading accounts, Crystals or other in-game goods outside the game.
- Harassing, threatening or discriminating against other players; using offensive names or guild announcements.
- Impersonating another person, a Cellution team member or a brand.
Sanctions. If you break these rules, we may apply, depending on severity: a warning, a limitation of features, a temporary suspension or closure of the account. We may cancel rewards obtained by cheating.
Appeals. You can appeal a sanction from the game, or by writing to idovoco@gmail.com with your support ID. A team member reviews the appeal within a reasonable time.
14. Intellectual property
Cellution, its characters, art, music, texts and code are the property of Diego Henderson or his licensors. Some third-party resources are used under licence.
We grant you a personal, limited, revocable, non-exclusive and non-transferable licence to use the game for your personal, non-commercial use. We give you no right over the game or over cosmetics, which are licences of use inside the game.
15. Availability, game changes and shutdown
- Service "as is". The game is offered as available, without prejudice to the rights that the law of your country gives you.
- Updates. You may need to update the app to keep playing. If a version stops being compatible with the server, we will ask you to update.
- Game changes. We may change content, balance, stores and features. We will announce important changes in advance.
- Closing modes or the game. If we close a mode or the game, we will announce it with reasonable notice and explain how remaining purchases and Crystals are handled.
16. Deleting your account
16.1 How to request it. You can request deletion of your account from the game (Settings → Account → Delete account; you are asked to type ELIMINAR to confirm, and you can cancel during the 7 days), or by following the instructions on this page if you no longer have the app.
16.2 7-day grace period. When you request deletion, your account is put on hold for 7 days. During that time you can cancel the deletion from the game. A second request does not extend the period.
16.3 What happens afterwards. When the period ends, the deletion is irreversible. Your progress, heroes, currencies, formation, Arena history and guild memberships are deleted. Your guild chat messages are kept, but your name is replaced with "deleted". What is kept for legal or security reasons, and for how long, is in the Privacy Policy.
16.4 Purchases. Deleting the account does not refund purchases. If you want to request a refund, follow section 10 before requesting deletion.
17. Consumer rights
Nothing in these terms limits the mandatory consumer protection rights that the law of your country of residence gives you.
18. Changes to these terms and versions
- We may change these terms. We will publish the new version on this page with its "last updated" date and, if the change is important, notify you in the game.
- Each version has a version label. The label you accepted is stored on your account together with the acceptance date.
